Auimatagi Stefan von Reiche

Stefan Auimatagi von Reiche is a contemporary artist from Samoa. A photographer, sculptor, painter and writer. Since, childhood the influence of nature and traditional mediums, cultural representations through nature motifs, vibrant colours and rich, textures served to be an infinite resource from which to pull inspiration and imagery. The lush landscapes of the island, a visual feast of beauty and tranquillity. Influenced by the artists in his family and other artists in the region, Stefan developed his own style. He works with various mediums including metal sculpture, painting, photography.

"These recent works are layered and built up, much like the landscape that dominates the urban setting, referring especially to a ‘spiritual’ connectedness to stories of the past and a landscape of possibilities.”

Private collections are held in Frankfurt, New Zealand, New York, Samoa, Atlanta, London, Washington D.C, Maryland, Cologne, Seoul and Sydney,
